"Piling on the Pounds" has a Whole New Meaning for Condo Buyers this Holiday Season

…Mississauga's Parkside Village and elle Condominiums offer $1,000 savings for every 10 pounds of food donated to The Mississauga Food Bank…

Mississauga, ON – December 1, 2009 – This Holiday Season, prospective condo-buyers are being asked to pile on the pounds – and the more they tip the scale the more everyone benefits. Amacon, the leading Canadian developer behind the marquee communities of Parkside Village and elle Condominiums in Mississauga, today launched the Give a Little, Save a Lot campaign to benefit The Mississauga Food Bank.

For every 10 pounds of canned goods or non-perishable food items prospective homeowners bring into the Parkside Village Sales Centre, they will receive a $1,000 credit towards the purchase of a new condo at Parkside Village or elle Condominiums up to a maximum of $12,000 in savings. The Give a Little, Save a Lot campaign runs until December 31, 2009.

"We created Give a Little, Save a Lot to raise awareness about the problem of hunger in Mississauga and to motivate people to take action," says Lilliana L. Di Franco, VP of Marketing and Sales, Amacon. "During the Holiday Season many people fret about piling on the pounds. We are turning that worry on its head by asking people to pile pounds of food onto our donation scale to help feed the hungry in our community."

All food donations will be given to The Mississauga Food Bank. To further support the community, Amacon is also donating $12,000 to The Mississauga Food Bank to help buy additional food to help feed the hungry this holiday season. The Mississauga Food Bank is Mississauga's leading food bank, providing balanced meals for more than 10,000 people each month. Each year, it distributes more than two million pounds of food through more than 30 different agencies.

Qualifying donations are being accepted and weighed at the Parkside Village Presentation Centre and elle Condominiums Discovery Gallery located at 465 Burnhamthorpe Road West in Mississauga (corner of Confederation and Burnhamthorpe). The Presentation Centre is open Monday to Thursday from 1 – 7 pm and weekends from Noon to 5pm.
