Amacon's eve Condominiums Wins at Mississauga Urban Design Awards

Mississauga, ON – December 4, 2009 – Amacon's eve Condominiums was celebrated with an Award of Merit for "Significance – City Wide Scale" at the Mississauga Urban Design Awards. The Award recognizes Amacon's contribution to the City of Mississauga's design objectives related to its image, visual identify, vistas, skyline and streetscapes.

Located south of Mississauga's City Centre, eve Condominiums is a 32 storey high rise residential condominium, the second tower of a three phase residential condominium development designed to reinforce the prominence of Mississauga's skyline. The first phase tower, Eden Park, was completed in 2006 and the third phase tower, elle, is currently under construction with move-in scheduled for Spring 2010.

The Jury Comments noted that eve Condominiums was recognized with this honour because "this significant addition to the city skyline is competent in design, and well proportioned point tower that is resolved through a well-defined base, shaft and articulated roof-top. The architecture and use of glass is good…the project entrance provides good pedestrian links through the site and internal streets."

Housing 276 suites, eve is constructed of precast, glass and metal to form an elegant contemporary design. The building mass is broken into two main elements: the primary being the 32 storey tower, and the second being the four storey podium base. The podium base reflects the low rise portion of the first tower and emphasizes a horizontal connection between each of the towers. The tower also boasts an impressive 6,500 indoor and outdoor amenity area featuring a children's playground, barbeque area, courtyard and covered gazebo.
