Casey's Champions Food Banks and Challenges Canadians to "Feed the Soul"

Mississauga, ON - September 23, 2009 - Building on success of its first chain-wide fundraiser last year, Casey's
Grill Bar today launched a second chain-wide fundraising campaign in partnership with the Ontario Association of Food Banks (OAFB) and Banques alimentaires Québec. During Casey's second Feed the Soul campaign, running until October 18, 2009, a portion from every item sold from the Feed the Soul feature menu will be donated to the OAFB and Banques alimentaires Québec to be shared with participating local food banks.

"Last year's Feed the Soul campaign was Casey's first ever chain-wide fundraiser and we were overwhelmed by the results, raising more than $50,000 for food banks in Ontario and Québec. Together with our guests and employees we hope to raise as much again this year," said Grant Cobb, Senior Vice President of Casey's Grill Bar. "At Casey's, we are committed to our people, to our guests and to the communities we serve and we are proud to support the valuable work of the OAFB and Banques alimentaires Québec."

For every item purchased from the Feed the Soul feature menu from September 21 – October 18, 2009, Casey's will donate a portion of the proceeds to the OAFB and Banques alimentaires Québec which will be shared with participating local food banks. The special menu features a range of Casey's most popular menu items including Roasted Red Pepper Soup, 14oz Rib Steak, Casey's Famous Back Ribs, Rotisserie Chicken, Bacon Cheese Burger, Apple Mary and Coke Float. Prices on the special Feed the Soul menu start at $3.99.

"By dining out at Casey's, Ontarians are helping their local food banks and their neighbours facing hunger during a difficult time in our province," said Adam Spence, OAFB's Executive Director. "As even more people across the province are forced to turn to food banks, Casey's Feed the Soul makes sure that everyone benefits from a good meal."

"Hunger isn't a choice and nobody is covered against difficult periods; help the food banks make a difference and lets help each other by making the fight against hunger a priority," said Richard Décarie, Executive Director of Banques alimentaires Québec.

In addition to the fundraising aspect of the program, Casey's head office and restaurant employees will be actively involved in supporting and volunteering at their local food banks to further help in the fight against hunger. The Feed the Soul campaign will be promoted in-restaurant and through radio advertising and public relations.
